1:400 Scale Model of St. Andrew’s Wesley Church

On Main Street’s Car Free Day, Ryder Architecture (Canada) opened its office to the public and invited families to build a laser-cut wooden scale model together. The model was created based on St. Andrew’s Wesley United Church in Vancouver, where the team completed a seismic upgrade. We designed the models and created an instruction booklet inspired by IKEA assembly guides. By limiting vehicle traffic, Car Free Day gave people a chance to experience what cities could be like with more space for pedestrians while fostering relationships with the community.
